The SAGA games I've played on the Atari had a really bad flicker to the graphics that made it difficult to concentrate on the game. You were supposed to be able to tune your monitor to where the flicker went away, but I could never get rid of it, so I stuck with the text-only versions.
You might want to just e-mail Scott and ask him about them. He's real good at responding to fan mail.
BTW: Scott has released a new game, Return to Pirate's Island 2, that he's offering for $19.95 US on his site. Sounds like a lot of people are enjoying it.

I had a 2nd hand 800XL years ago for a very short time before I fried it by plugging in the wrong power supply (from a C64 disk drive) so my memory of commands etc is extremely patchy.
I've got hold of Xformer & a few disk images but cannot for the life of me work out or remember how to load any of the things. I can get the DOS menu & assign an image to another drive (eg, D2) but can't get past there.
Any help (ie, a step by step idiots guide) would be greatly appreciated as I want to wallow in 8 bits for a while.
Cheers.
Darren.

Pretty broad question... that DOS menu probably has a command list which includes "L"oad a binary file for .EXE or .COM applications. You will need to reboot the XFormer with Basic enabled before you can LOAD, SAVE, etc any of the many basic programs. Try here for some helpful instructions:
You get better info from specific questions rather than a globas request. Which version of XFormer?

For me it was mostly about the system I am running the software on.
On an old laptop with only a 1.4 meg drive, SIO2PC works well since it is small and integrates well in that envirionment.
On a larger system with giga byte HD and a lot of files, APE has an easy to use interface for selecting disk images so file managment is less of a hassle.
Somewhere in between would be a toss up. For example, if you just want to use SIO2PC on an old 286 with 40 meg hard drive for 5-10 disk images it would be about as close as you can get to a tie.
It is also a tie if you are using application or programming software on the Atari. I have a tendancy to use either Sparta or MyDOS with a decent sized image, so the file handling or swapping drives doesn't really present a problem.

I have several Atari 800XL computers for sale. These are the consoles only, no power supply. All are in good working order. $15 each plus shipping.
Not sure what "BS" stands for in your subject line, but here in the US it's often a slang for "bull s**t". Just thought I'd tell you that, I don't think that is what you intended. lol

Hi folks, which Atari8bit Emulators supports .CAS file types which are made from Atari data tapes (Atari 410). I like to convert from tape to PC and wanna make sure that 8bit emulators support this filetype. Atari800Win or Xformer2000 support it??
