Then don't read the freakin' newsgroup, dummy. if you are so concerned. exactly how much is it per second for internet access? a penny? if so add up the amount of penny's as to how many of ben's posts there are over the period of a year. i bet its like 50 or 60 cents or something like that (over a years time). If you are so darned concerned about that kind of money, you shouldn't be able to afford a computer much less internet access.
if i am totally wrong (if its like a dollar per second or somethingg like that) i will take what i said back.
if you are so concerned about the small change cost for one of bens posts and you are upset over it because of the "principle" then thats just silly. i think you have "wasted" more money with this debate than you ever would just ignoring ben's posts.
like others have said, just DON'T download the messages when you scan the headers!!!

Its 'Dribble' here, a local thing I think, as for the gradeschool level, I thought that is what I was on.
Does the "ahole" in your email address stand for Arsehole??.

see below a bit.

This is a usenet newsgroup, neither a 'base' nor a fidonet echo.

No such rule exists for this newgroup, cf. below.

Childish comment, cf. above.

From the faq, at:
... There is no charter for comp.sys.atari.8bit. (newsgroup pre-dates the custom)
comp.sys.atari.8bit is not moderated.
DO NOT POST BINARIES in comp.sys.atari.8bit, use the binaries groups instead. ...
So, no charter, no moderator, and no binaries. Searching the faq for 'commercial' or 'business' gets no hits. Looks like Bravo Sierra _is_ following the rules.

Most of it directed at YOU.

Ken's attitude may be Lax but yours is offensive.

Dillweed!!.
Getting better. You managed to type a couple of sentences before the abusive insult. Keep trying.

And once again the abuse. Ken makes a valid comment and is called an _idiot_.
You really are a foul mouthed, ignorant, self opinionated, tight fisted git. Where you the class room bully aswell ?
You complain enough about others so I think others should start complaining about you. Just face it, most people don't mind small businesses posting but do mind your language and abuse. Either grow up or go away.

Thats right, and its my choice to suscribe to a non-commercial base, and its not your or anyone elses decision to make it otherwise.

That is not the point is it?, one click in outlook and he's killfiled, but i shouldnt have to do that should i.

True on both levels.
You are right that you shouldn't have to put forward the effort to killfile someone who is using bandwidth in a manner you find objectionable.
You are right that it is easy for me to killfile you with a click or two in OE as you have contributed more to off topic and cross posting, taking more bandwidth, then Ben has in the last year.
Thanks for reminding me or both items. I would suggest you follow your own pet criteria and don't force more people to do an extra click or two to killfile you if you are sincere in your beliefs.

Well you brought the cost aspects up, that is why I mentioned this. Well if you're happy with downloading the whole thing, that's ok with me.
About killfile, I tend to agree. But then, should I have to add you to my killfile, in order to avoid seeing posts where you call ppl different kinds of names?

At the rate he's generating off topic posts he'll go broke soon... then perhaps it will stop. Not the best solution perhaps, but a solution none the less. It's his choice.

This reminds me of the time I was subscribed to the newsgroup for PIC (microchip) microcontrollers. A guy got on and said he was a business owner who had a contractor who got all pissed off one day, left, and took the source code with him. The only thing the guy had was a chip that was programmed, but copy protected. The poster was wondering if there was any way to clear the protection bit, to read the code back out of the thing...
MY PROBLEM, was that I actually gave the guy the benefit of the doubt and answered him truthfully that there was little he could do....
THEN, and here's the BEST part.... a group of like 2 or 3 guys tore this guy a newhole and then proceeded to tear into ME, because I was saying to the group that 'this guy posting could be telling the truth'. This attack went on over 3 or 4 days..... good grief.
The end result? Well, I make a living programming PIC microcontrollers, but I will NEVER go back there again. I have also been asked by other guys using PICs if there was a place on-line and I've told them the truth,'you can try this group, but ......'

And just to be on the ironic side..... I've looked at all the ads for BSC that are current, and each of the 3 of them is 3K or less, while this thread including the copying of the original messages in the replys are EACH 3K, and theres like 20 or 25 of them!! Sooooo because of this tread, everyone has downloaded 6X the amount they normally would.....hahahahha
